Jaffa to Jerusalem

Our favorite custom tour for the savvy traveler

This 2-day tour honors the ancient route that pilgrims once traveled in order to reach the holy city of Jerusalem.  Indeed, throughout antiquity, Jaffa is the port where ships once arrived, where visitors would experience their first glimpse of the holy land, and where porters would wait for their guests to make the arduous journey up the hill to Jerusalem’s holy wonders.  Today we are happy to offer you luxurious transport, as we begin our journey in the port city of Jaffa, taking in the sites of this wonderful city, before we head east and rise in both elevation and holiness.

The second half of the day offers us a number of wonderful sites that can accommodate the adventurous traveler, whether they choose a Christian, Jewish, or even culinary emphasis.

Maybe you prefer a lunch break at Abu Ghosh and the beautifully preserved Crusader monastery of St. Mary, or possibly a visit to the charming Ein Karem neighborhood, home to the John the Baptist Church as well as the golden domed Church of the Visitation.  Military enthusiasts can surely appreciate the Latroun fortress and tank memorial museum, honoring Israel’s fallen from the armored corps (including my father, Moshe Katz z”l).

Day-2 is an all-inclusive Jerusalem extravaganza, taking in all of the sites of both the new city and the old city, making this our most popular tour for guests hoping to enjoy some of our favorite sites and wonders of this tremendous land.   Indeed, we invite you for some strolling of the ancient streets of the old city, catching the priests giving mass in the Holy Sepulcher, bowing our heads at the Western Wall, and enjoying the many lookouts over this breathtaking skyline.  The new city is home to the beloved Mahane Yehuda market and we love enjoying a tasting tour with our guests after a long day of walking and praying.

(It is important to remember when visiting holy sites that modest dress is required.)
