Jerusalem & Judean Desert

From the sacred city, to the desert mysteries

Day 1 Holy Jerusalem

The old city of Jerusalem has been a pilgrim’s destination for over 3-millennium and is surely a highlight for any visitor to Israel.  For us, it is truly an honor to stroll amidst her holiness, and this passion is passed onto our guests as we take stock of the more important things in life that these walls and tales ask us to ponder.  Having a guide is therefore a ‘must’ for such a place as this, exposing hidden secrets and gems that might otherwise be missed.  Indeed, we invite you for some strolling of the ancient streets of the old city, catching the priests giving mass in the Holy Sepulcher, bowing our heads at the Western Wall, and enjoying the many lookouts over this breathtaking skyline.  These are just a few of the gifts that Jerusalem bestows onto its visitors.  We are happy to offer our guests 3 different options to accommodate your desired travel style.  Join us for this classic tour that takes in the 4-quarters.

Day 2- Judean Desert

Our second day together brings us from Jerusalem down into the lowest place on the face of the Earth, the Dead Sea and Jordan Valley.  Our first stop takes us to the mighty mountain fortress of Masada, where we cable car up to this Herodian fortified ruin and UNESCO world heritage site of mystery and history.  This is one of our favorite places to travel and the powerful story, matched with the epic views, and a guide by your side makes for some rather tremendous travel to be enjoyed by all.

We continue our adventure to the Dead Sea for a float and mud bath in a sea like no other.  Welcome to the saltiest body of water on the planet.  We typically will enjoy the public beaches at Ein Bokek which provide access to this natural phenomenon and a comfortable way to take a dip, get good and muddy, and enjoy this world-class site. Guests who wish to take in the more luxurious spas available at the hotels (additional fees) are also able to do so and have the creature comforts provided (lockers, showers, swimming pool, etc.).  After lunch, we head north to take a desert stroll at the rather wonderful Ein Gedi spring for one of Israel’s most celebrated hikes and an amazing appreciation for the power of water flowing in the driest and lowest of places on the planet.  Don’t worry, the Camel ride is included as well!
